TELEVISION
The advent of television brought a variety of entertainment right into homes - no need to attend concerts or movies. Favorite programs were "Hit Parade", "Dragnet" and "I Love Lucy".
Because TVs were so expensive my family didn't own one until I was in junior high school. I did watch frequently though at a next-door neighbors house - her daddy watched wrestling matches and "Dragnet", while her mom looked forward to "Hit Parade".
