NOT-SO-HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

It wasn't mandatory to give valentines to everyone in my class at school; therefore, the number received was very important.  After quickly looking through my small highly decorated brown paper bag, and counting how many valentines were there, I immediately hoped that somehow after school many additional valentines, candy and flowers would be delivered to me at home to make up for my classroom deficit.

  1. Nice collage! I remember something similar from Valentine’s Day when I was in grammar school. I remember those little candy hearts with Valentine’s sayings on them. If you got that along with a valentine, it was really special.

  2. Thank you for the comment. I don't remember anyone getting candy at school - it probably wasn't allowed. We received mostly handmade valentines - red construction paper and doilies. I agree that candy with certain sayings would have been special.
