Cloning was a term used in science fiction movies.  In reality, several gestation cycles occurred before cattle were produced of sufficient quality to even be considered "graded".  Branding was not always necessary, since cattle sometimes had very identifiable markings.

  1. 3JK (Joel, Joyce, Joelle, Kathryn) was the brand my parents registered after purchasing land and moving to Louisiana. Daddy bought a registered Black Angus bull at auction and half-Holstein/half-Angus calves from a dairy farmer who lived down the road from our farmhouse. It was the beginning of a planned future herd of Angus cattle and was not a venture filled with success.
