The song"Sixteen Candles" was popular when I turned sixteen and it seemed as if the song was written for me. To celebrate my birthday, I planned a scavenger hunt that began at my house and proceeded with the invited guests running wildly throughout the neighborhood. It was quite memorable! |
My turning sixteen was quite a contrast from when my grandmother became engaged at the same age.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a wonderful collage! Although I’m a tad younger I remember that song “Sixteen Candles” playing on the radio. Pretty song! Neil Sedaka’s “Happy Birthday Sweet 16” was played at my Sweet Sixteen party and it was memorable too.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard the saying "Sweet sixteen - never been kissed"? Don't think it would apply to adolescents today - probably not my generation either. A first grade classmate kissed me on the lips while lining up in the hall for library, and we were sent to the principal. The principal said that it was improper to kiss on the lips - just cheeks.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I've heard that saying! You had a very amorous first grade classmate...lol!
DeleteI shouldn't have mentioned that story - it was just a peck.
DeleteBeautiful work! I love the warm colour pallet in this piece, as well as the cute little couple kissing. Very sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sasha, for commenting - I'm glad you like the collage and the kissing couple. I like them also, and decided I needed to find a place for them.
