GIRDLE GIRLS
We wore all sorts of undergarments - pointy bras, girdles, waist cinchers, etc - in hopes of obtaining the hour glass figure that was popular at the time. Our body was not supposed to jiggle.
My goodness, the tortures women have had to go through to attain the feminine ideal. Whenever my wife and I watch a film from the 50s, we're always amazed that every leading actress seems to have an 18 inch waist.
You have a good point here!I totally agree with what you have said!!Thanks for sharing your views...hope more people will read this article!!! best waistcincher
I remember hearing older women say that pregnant girls should wear girdles to "hold the baby up", and wondering what would happen to their circulation. Quite a few of those girls ended up with red spidery veins on their legs.
